Root Center New Britain serves 800 patients daily from the New Britain community and surrounding towns. At Root Center, we are committed to serving the whole person and delivering comprehensive and compassionate mental health and substance use treatment for both adults and adolescents.
We utilize evidenced-based approaches in order to support you on your path to well-being. We offer many services to meet your needs that include group therapy, intensive outpatient programming, individual therapy, medication management, and family therapy.

Farrell Treatment Center is a nonprofit substance abuse treatment facility licensed by the State of Connecticut. We are a recovery oriented system of care with a focus on the individual. Our programs are designed to assist our clients in finding solutions, strength and hope. We know that all of our clients having different needs and goals; therefore, we designed our treatment programs to incorporate a variety of approaches; 12 steps facilitation, mindfulness, relapse prevention, seeking safety, family involvement and neurobiological interventions are a sample of treatment modalities. Our administrative team can answer all your question and accept referrals. We accept Medicaid, Anthem, Connecticare, Optimum, United Behavioral Health, HealthyCT and self pay. Our self-pay rates are reasonable. For 28 days, we currently change $6000.00
IOP is 75.00 per day
Our outpatient services are based on income and typically less than or equal to a commercial insurance co-pay.

Vita Pulita House is a DMHAS approved and CTARR approved supported recovery housing services providing funded beds for Male addicts and alcoholics in early recovery coming out of inpatient treatment centers and DOC. Program provides all the supports and structure for maintaining a healthy lifestyle of continued recovery with strong emphasis on continued treatment and 12 step fellowships in a very structured and safe environment.

'Change the Script' is a statewide public awareness campaign to help communities address the prescription drug and opioid misuse crisis. In collaboration with the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), Department of Consumer Protection (DCP), and Department of Children and Families (DCF) , DPH has launched an educational campaign for state residents that helps to increase awareness of the dangers of opioid and prescription drug misuse while focusing on decreasing the stigma of addiction and promoting life saving measures such as naloxone and treatment. The campaign materials available for use include social media messages, PSAs (radio and TV), billboards, posters, and brochures.
"Change the Script" is a toolkit that contains creative materials such as advertisements, posters, billboards, direct-distribution pieces, radio scripts, and other materials that can be co-branded and used locally. Ready-to-use materials that do not require customization are also available for distribution and use at the state level.
